I Voted Today!

I lost my sticker on BART on my way home.  Needless to say, political junkie I am, I voted today.

For Obama.

Duh.

I was actually surprised at the lack of hoopla in SF surrounding the primaries: the only evidence of a political happening I saw today were some silent and stalwart supporters carrying Obama’08 signs and a few crumpled “Pissed Off Voters Election Guides” on the ground as I walked home from BART this evening.

Oh yeah – and, there were three – I counted – three Ron Paul signs stapled around stoplights in the FiDi this morning, they were gone when IT Guy and I walked up that way 5pm-ish to go to our respective polling places.

Either way Super Tuesday goes for the Dems, it’s looking like it will be a historic election which we’re participating in.  That excites me for no other reason than I’m a political junkie.  If I’m missing at any point between now and 4 November, it’ll be easy to find me: surfing the web or glued to MSNBC (*bats eyelashes in direction of Keith Olbermann*  Hiiii Keeeiiittth!)

Tonight, though I’m going to be taking my loverly Mander Pants out for cocktails, as she is having a rough week.

I hope this excursion doesn’t make my week rougher.

  1. I pray that you look beyond CNN for your news – 2 of my comments were censored during their debate (completely respectful, well written and valid comments)… made me see them for who they truly are. .. bought and paid for. Freedom of press to those who own it, take this more seriously then you would ever know. If you are my age (I am 30) know that our generation has some serious issues ahead… ie too many entitlement programs and not enough of us (or our money) to support them. We will be crushed under the weight of the entitlement system. If you are serious about politics, know your economics, because this is where most people get fooled by fancy talk. Read “Economics in One Lesson” by Henry Hazlitt (quick 200 page educational read) it will make you se epolitics in a whole new way. Candidate promises won;t be same because you will realize that they can’t support those promises economically. .. Be forwarned though, if you actually even get through the first 4 chapters of this book, you will probably become downright depressed as to how screwed up our monetary system has been over the past 70 years and how programs (especially programs by Obama) will end up collapsing in on themselves b/c there is no money to support them… best of luck!

  2. although I can’t say I watch a lot of MSNBC, I have to say that Sen. Obama is rather impressive. I would almost vote for him in the general election if I don’t like the Republican ticket.

    Have a Great Day!

  3. Hey Lynn,
Thanks for your comment… rest assured, I’m well informed beyond CNN. While I may not agree with what you’ve put forth in your comment I really respect that you’ve taken the time to educate yourself on the issues and are obviously considering what you’ve learned carefully in making the decision who to vote for. :)

It is the diversity of thought which (theoretically) makes our country great.

Best of luck to you, too!
    K

  4. Haha, Dave… you know I say the same thing about McCain: I’d almost vote for him if I didn’t like the Dem ticket.

    Almost being the key word.

    ;)

    Have a fantastic day,
    K
